A Simple Way To Welcome Spring

Living in Seattle I have grown to truly appreciate the arrival of Spring, especially after many months of rain, snow, clouds, more snow, rain....you get the picture. As soon as I see signs of life spring from the ground and see my shadow on the pavement a shiver of excitement runs through my body and I let out a deap sigh of relief.....I made it through another winter. To spread the joy I thought I would make a friend a small, inexpensive box with a few items to brighten their day. Nothing fancy, nothing over the top....just some small trinkets to remind them to draw the curtains, fling wide the shutters, spring is here!!

If you would like to wish someone a "happy spring" all you need are a few items that you think would lift someone's spirits. In my case I chose:

1. A lovely pool colored tissue for the wrapping.

2. A bag of peach jellybeans.

3. A handwritten note

4. Bright poppy colored ribbon

5. A small evelope for seeds.

6. Wildflower seeds

7. A mixed cd of songs I love to listen to on a warm sunny day

8. Fresh fruit of the season

Once you have your items, assemble them in a box of some sort. No need to buy one just use one you have lying around the house. I actually went to Whole Foods and they had great sturdy to-go boxes that they gave me for free. You could use a shoebox if you had one! The point of this project is to keep it simple and sweet.  Instead of giving it to your friend in person leave it on their doorstep for them to find later. Its quite a nice surprise!

Happy Spring Everyone!

We were out of town this weekend and I just got my box! My neighbor picked it up so it wouldn't be left outside for a few days. Thank you so much! Ive been contemplating what goodies I can send friends for spring! Thanks for a great idea!
